I used both ad services; Adwords and Facebook. As you said, FB ad is totally different than Google Adwords. The former is more like a marketing tool while the later is a real online advertisement tool. I used both for my website www.BharatTutors.com. I find that I am getting one click for X cents from Google adwords, while I have to spend 3X cents even to get single click. Google wins.

Targetted facebook ads can be so effective. I have been using them for about a month now for various websites and seem to be converting better than I ever did with Adwords.
